Wonder what the deal is with beans and the northeast? Maine has bean suppers like WI has fish fries Yeah I'm not sure. The churches used to always have baked bean dinners in the fall to make money. I don't see them as much any more. I'd rather do a clam/lobster bake but, I'm overruled. In the summers up at Prince Edward Island the churches have lobster dinners on a weekly basis to make money.

What a cool tradition. And the food looks excellent. It was a fun day and the food was good but, I'd take a grilled ribeye or steamed lobster over this any day.

Reminds me of the cream can thing farmers do around here. i am not sure I remember the entire recipe. something like onion bags of potatoes, then bags of onions, carrots, other vegetables, link sausage of various types on top of that and then maybe ears of corn on top.
They use a turkey fryer/propane for the heat source.
