Is it because of the yellow discharge on the left side?

Serious question batman; you've got a fence right? Do you not put out mineral and feed to maximize or force their growth?

I sure as hell dont put out minerals to try and grow deer..... I put them out for spots to put cams because the minerals attract the deer. I dont believe for a second a magic rock is going to grow big bucks..... Having neighbors that dont shoot every deer they see will help grow better bucks......

But I am part of crew doing the math to see how many deer per square we can sustain on natural feed. It’s a fun ride.

I've read that the minerals help the does after they birth and when they are nursing fawns. Is there any truth to that? I know after a tough winter they look pretty bad sometimes.

For $6/year, I don't have a high threshhold for being convinced. I'd just do it. I spend more effort scrutinizing paper towels. You get those shitty ones that don't tear off well or absorb anything, and you get angry every time you tear one off.

Here in NH we aren't allowed to put out minerals unless it's during the deer baiting season in November but, a lot of Trophy rocks are sold year round.

I see allot of use at my mineral sites. I doubt it's doing allot for improving horns but it is attracting deer and they must be getting something from using it. Even if it's most likely salt. One thing I do is I use small batches (5 lbs) each time I refresh the site. This keeps the salt from leaching away and making the site less attractive. I also put a large stump in the middle of the site to absorb the minerals and salt. The deer lick the stumps down to nothing. I refresh ones per month starting in May and ending in October.
