Yes. I'm planting corn tomorrow and everyone just started their corn over the weekend. I'm a big fan of late planting soybeans to keep the green a little longer in the fall especially if there's other fields in the area.

I think it was Jbird that had the idea of even waiting a couple weeks after the farmers to plant beans because it moves the feeding pattern to the farmers beans instead of his. However, he's further south and can afford the extra time. Are you hoping to overseed a fall crop into them?

No real farmers are planting beans that I have seen. This includes where I work and where I live.

We plant wheat, then beans, corn last. get better bean yields the earlier we plant them.
Edit: That is how it worked out for several years now. This year, all the fields are wet, so we will plant whatever field when it goes!

My neighbor is planting corn and farmers are burning daylight by me. Every field was being worked near my place.
Temps look warm next week so soils will be warming up.

Good soil temps or not. I am planting my corn and beans on Wed or Thurs this week.
Heading up on Tuesday for a week. Fishing season is upon us, and I am not missing out again because I am killing myself on the farm in unending tasks.

I realize deer populations vary greatly in MN but if i planted beans right now, before any farmers plant agricultural beans, they'd get eaten to the dirt.
Coincidentally, In two or three weeks, I'll get browse pressure, but not so much that they can't canopy.

I think I might take Friday off and plant corn. Beans might just follow during the weekend since I will have my buddies planter down there already. I don't mind having my beans mature a touch early. It gives me time for my brassica/rye to grow!
