Last year I got winter rye seed from a farmer. I didn't see any growth last year so wasn't sure the seed was good. Now this year I'm seeing this grass. This is also a spot planted BOB mix that had sweet rye grass in. Winter Rye, sweet rye grass or something else?

Looks like some wr in there. When I plant wr it has a blueish tint to it, that might help you I'd it. It will also quickly grow waist high and heat out.

Ok, sounds like I should have used an exclusion cage last fall to see growth.

Nice crop of WR you have there. Hard for WR seed to go bad.
