I've got my sights set on picking up a 3pt box blade for the tractor this year. Looks like the going rate is $500+ for a 60", but there is definitely differences in quality of the different brands I see ranging from LandPride to Howse. Was going to target a few upcoming auctions as well. Anyone have recommendations on brands to target or stay away from? I'll be using it for trails and driveway mainly.

I have a KK and use and abuse the crap out of it. Never had any issues. Saved the extra $$$$$$ for other goodies.

Well after searching Craigslist and watching for deals online the past few months, I finally located a 5' box blade in my very cheap price range. It isn't pretty, but it should do the trick for now and I can save the cash for something else. I only paid $75 and it came with 4 near new scarifers which are worth close to that themselves. I figure that I won't be out much if I decide to upgrade in the future.

For 75 you got one great deal. If you do upgrade get one wide enough that it will cover the tire tracks.

Very Nice find!
You can't beat the price and it looks like a good unit.

For 75 you got one great deal. If you do upgrade get one wide enough that it will cover the tire tracks. That would have been ideal, but I didn't want to pass up this one. Wasn't sure how much stress I wanted to put on my tractor either. They pull easier than I thought.

Oh you can make them pull hard. Set those scarifers deep and you'll see. Great buy regardless.

Put my box blade to work for the first time leveling off some wicked terrain to establish a small plot in the woods to field transition area. I should have taken a before picture, but I was very happy with the results and speed. The small investment has already paid for itself. It would have been ideal to have it wider than the tires like Tooln mentioned, but my DIY drag will finish it off. I didn't need perfection either, just something I could seed without breaking an ankle or stressing equipment.

It didn't take long for the deer to find the new plot to their liking.
