Does anyone run one of these? If so, how are the results? Any other recommendations?
I want a cellular cam that I can take a real time picture if I request it to (I believe this is possible?).

I have been running two Snyper Commander 3g cameras for about a month. So far so good. They send using data to an email address. I set up a gmail account for the cameras. You can also email it to your mobile phone number via text. They also have an App that pictures can be sent to. I like using the app better because it is easier to scroll through pictures. I bought this camera on the recommendation of a neighbor who tests just about every camera on the market. It is supposed to have the ability to take a picture on demand but I have not done this yet, I am told it is harder on batteries. Picture size is reduced on the sent pictures but original picture remains on card. So far away subjects are not clear when zoomed in. www.snyperhuntingproducts.com/online-store/Commander-3G-Cellular-Trail-Camera-p80814152Spartan is another model that is just as good. I went with Snyper because of the deal I was able to get.

Explain the costs associated with running these.

$250 for camera - one time cost $10 per month per camera for data through AT&T Batteries? I am using external SLA battery 600 pictures and still shows full charge. Otherwise 8 AA and I don't know how long they will last.

Is the $10/month unlimited data?

I bought the Verizon Spartan Gocam a few months ago. It shoots more blanks than a Chernobyl victim. 1 second trigger speed so it will be okay on minerals or a scrape but worthless for anything needing a quick trigger speed.

Do cellular cams send the picture immediately and the delay in receiving it is due to it pinging around in space or does the camera delay actually sending the picture for a few minutes? I'm curious because if someone walks up to it and tries to steal it I would want it to send me the picture right away so the guy doesn't have time to turn it off. Anyone know?

I will be watching this thread Very interested in trying one out. WHat kind of service is required? I only have one good spot at the farm with 2 bars sometimes 3, using at&t. Be kinda cool to use at my house too. House deer only have a couple ways in an out. If I got a pic of a good buck I could put the sneak on one pretty easy.

Have you heard of any better alternatives other than the $1K+ Reconyx cellular?

Is there a way of shutting off the photos remotely if you happen to notice a leaf or branch in the photo so that you can prevent 1000 photos of a branch or leaf using up your data?

My Gocam sends pics right away and with the phone app you can change the settings on the cam via the phone which is very cool.
I'm not familiar with the other cell cams on the market. It was a impulse buy at the Iowa Deer Classic. I'm pretty sure it's less expensive to run, $5.00/month, than most other cell cams.

About to order a HCO cellular cam. Is blackout flash the same thing as no glow?
Anyone have opinion on no flow vs red glow?

Go no glow.
The red glow will be seen by deer.
