Just read an article discussing differences. As you said BLB no glow will not be seen by deer and (more importantly) trespassers. The downside is red glow takes meaningfully better pictures based on the examples in the article I read

Absolutely true.
Unfortuneately, most things have the pros/cons list.

No glow for sure if you are going to run on plots or travel corridors. Personally, I care less about picture quality and more about the info they provide. If I can identify the buck that is all I care about.

I know he isn't a favorite of some of the folks here, but Bill on HT runs a Buckeye system and the pics he posts appear to be pretty good. I don't know much about the system or costs, but I know with him living 1/2 way across the country from his property it seems to work well for him. Just an option....

Update on my Spypoint cellular camera fleet. I initially purchased a couple Spypoint Link-Dark ATT cameras. They work great, when they work. I've returned all three under warranty so far. The one the bear ate continues to function though, despite the destroyed LED screen. I also have two of the Link-Micro cameras, which have been perfect so far, but they lack features like a time lapse setting, and their battery life is shorter than the Link-Dark. If I knew then, what I know now, I probably would have gone another route. But, I'm in too deep to quit now. I buy them through trailcampro.com. If the camera comes from the manufacturer with a one year warranty, they double it. They are fantastic to work with, excellent customer service. It's top notch. I don't work for them. So, the third failure was this year. It's why I have no pictures of my Big North plot. I returned it, and they sent me a SOLAR version as a replacement. I can't wait to try this new one out. Solar could be a game changer for me.

I have some Spypoint Solar cameras I use in Iowa. (Not the cell option)…They are great for long distance. Excellent day pics, night pics can be blurry. Hopeful they work well for you!

I've had them a couple years now. So they work OK. Just not as reliable as I'd hoped. I didn't expect to send them all back for warranty replacement.

I had one Spypoint Cellular Dark that I returned to Trailcampro and got a credit from them. I had a battery clip that broke and they gave me credit without issue.

I’d have to say for $119 and $10 month the Tactacam Reveal X is a great camera if you can get your hands on them. I got mine through Cabelas for $109 but they’re up to $119 and rarely in stock.
