With the mild winter the Deer must of stuck around as I am starting to get a little browse Line along this food plot. With a buck only 2 year ago and very few doe tags last year the deer umber have taken a jump. Guess we will have to walk a few does this season.

I'm always looking for browse lines as I drive around. I do see them here in spots, but oftentimes they are due to cattle rather than deer.

It is weird I have hundreds of yards of tree line and only this 100 yards strip is showing any browsing pressure. It was not there last fall so I can only figure that because of mild winter the Deer stuck around all winter. Just beyond that browse Line is a South facing slope which deer love to bed on.

I am beginning to see a browse line on my place, but this was a deer wintering area. When do I worry about it, or will the neighbors take care of the problem?

Bartylla had a guideline and when over 30% of the browse deer can reach is chewed to pencil size you have to get on the trigger. Thats some pretty heavy browse.

A browse line is the deer's way of telling you to fish some food outta the sky with your chainsaw, and then fertilize with sunlight.

This is only spot like this. You step into woods and it is a jungle if you get off of trail. Mother nature took care of doing some opening of canopy with wind storm. It is like hinge cutting without even firing up the chainsaw. Neighbors in area think I am nuts leaving all that fire wood laying there to eventually rot. Plan to take a couple of does this fall.
