How long should you wait to spray your beans with gly? (how tall should the beans be?) My beans are up.....but may only be 6" tall now......seems to me I need to wait till 10 to 12" ?? Also, I am trying to remember the mix I used in the past..... (I think I used 1 Quart / Acre Mix (I usually put down about 1 quart in 12 gallons of water and 12 gallons gets me about an acres worth of spay)) Funny how fast you forget this stuff. Old age?

I do 2 qts of gly and 3-4 lbs of granulated AMS per acre. I do 20 gallons of water per acre. My tank holds 60 gallons. I set it at 25 psi, and drive 4-5 mph.

regarding when to spray?
I spray when I can get it done. I dont go based on plant height. I try to do it between 4-6 weeks after planting.

I do 2 quarts per acre. The weeds not the height of beans should dictate when to spray. With that said usually 3 to 4 weeks after planting I spray. This usually enables the bean plants that I run over to bounce back after being run over by ATV and sprayer. I plan to spray tomorrow.

Spray Before weeds go off label. Try and spray when weeds are no more than 1-2"

I have used the rule of thumb of so many weeks and got caught by rampaging weeds. This year I sprayed 3 weeks after planting as I could already tell the weeds were going to launch. I figure I better kill them ASAP as I don't want my beans competing and I figured if I had to I could spray again later.

I was under the belief that you used 1 Qt to the acre to spray beans. Does everyone use 2 Quarts / Acre? Seems like "over-kill". Pun intended. I did spray my beans today.....and used 1 Qt / Acre. Hope I get a kill.

Using a light dose like you are doing will end up making some weeds gly resistant.

Hope I get a kill on those weeds.

If I remember right for beans my label indicated 1.5 quarts per acre and that would be for immature weeds. If your weeds have already gotten good size you need more herbicide.
After a couple years ago when I had lots of weeds I'm going to spray early from now on. I also think less competition lets my beans establish and canopy quicker.

The stuff I had recommended 1 qt per acre for smaller weeds and 2 qts for larger weeds.
