Hard to tell by the pictures Brad. Second bear is definitely bigger. Measure the height and diameter of your stump. Also if you can put some type of permanent mark on tree 36 inches high that will show up on your trailcam, it will help sizing bear. Also if you spread some French fry grease on the vegetation around the bait site the bear will knock all the vegetation down and give you a clear view of bear.

And put liquid smoke on the tree

That fist bear is a young 'un. The second is much better. You need some reference marks or logs etc. In canada they say to find one that has a back at least as high as a standing barrel (of oats). Are you bear hunting in Spring? (WI?)

Brad get some Gold Rush from this place. Then take your liquid smoke, put it in a spray bottle and mix a little Gold Rush with the liquid smoke. Works great for attractant and then when you start hunting it can be sprayed to cover your scent. We have had really good results.

Definitely not a yearling. Really hard to tell by the pictures. Need a side shot with the whole body, including legs. Ist shot looks like a good bear.
