I am not a reader, but am looking for a good book for the airplane. Anyone read the "Killing the Rising Sun" by Bill Oreilly?
Any good?
I know, has nothing to do with habitat, don't care!

Haven't read that one, but anything by Dean R. Koontz is action packed and they usually start quickly (he doesn't spend half the book getting you to know the characters).
"Lone Survivor" was a great read! Much better and different than the movie.

If you haven't read Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand then I'd recommend it. You'll never have another bad day at work. Unbroken book link at Amazon

My wife read Unbroken before we watched the movie. The whole movie she kept saying "that scene wasn't as bad as it was in the book". She said the movie glossed it over a bunch to make it fit into 2hours. Said the guy went through HELL!

I put a link above. Without giving too much away, it's a true story about an Olympic runner who goes to war in Word War II and ends up in hell.

My neighbor Art Hubner was in the Baton Death march. Went in the service at 147lbs, came out at 78, with one arm chopped off for picking up egg shells while walking to a prison camp factor job run by the Japs in Manchuria China.
My son interviewed him for a high school project. First time he ever talked about it. It was One incredible story!

My wife listened to the audiobook for Unbroken when her commute was longer. One day I heard the garage door open, but after a few minutes she didn't come into the house. I went and looked and she was sitting there still listening to it, probably ended up sitting there at least 10 extra minutes to get thru part of it. Too good to stop!

Dad said killing the rising son was good but I haven't read it.
Killing Lincoln was good.
Unbroken is a must read.
The Frontiersman is excellent. Allan Eckert has several historical fiction books about settling the frontier from PA, Ohio Kentucky.
Ghost Soldiers is about the Battan Death March and the the rescue of POWs.
1776 by William McCollough
Blood and Thunder. It's about Kit Carson and the settling of Foggy's winter homeland.
Undaunted Courage. It's about Lewis and Clark.
Flags of Our Fathers
The Heart of Everything that Is. The story of Red Cloud. He was the only Indian to kick the American's ass and live to tell about it. He is nearly erased from history since he was an Indian winner.
In case you didn't notice, I like to read about history. There are many super stories to read where you actually learn something instead of some dude making shit up to entertain me.

If it is, What a way to get free farm labor... That's the guy. A refreshing look at modern without being full on quackery. I don't know that I'd have ever done an internship with him, but for someone who didn't know squat about ag, it might be a good thing.
