Since I now have a sprayer I have a few questions for my fall plot. Currently I have weeds, WR & BW in the plot. It's mostly weeds cause the BW & WR got washed out with all the rain. I plan to put in some rape, Radish's, turnips & WR. I don't want to have to till the plot and may not even be able to depending on rain. Would you.
1. Spray, broadcast and then pack. 2. Broadcast, pack then spray. 2. Spray, wait a week then broadcast and pack.

I tend to do #3 but instead of packing I mow after broadcasting.

I like 3. Get it while it's standing up, and let it work before flattening it.

I was planning on #3 but wanted to throw the others out there to see if anyone did it this way.

I do a #1 on my property all the time but will only do a #2 if I have wipes or toilet paper along.

Ok, so I sprayed on Monday. There is 50% chance of rain forecast for Saturday afternoon & 60 % chance for Tue, Wed & Thursday. So should I broadcast my brassicas tomorrow morning before the rain or wait till Monday? I'm leaning towards tomorrow morning with my line of thinking there would be a little less of a chance of the seeds getting washed out in the 3 day forecast. What say yea?

You probably got a good kill by now. If you got a germinating rain coming, take it.

I say go for it too! Are you still going to pack it? I've found weeds don't lay down as well when they are green but it won't matter, they'll be dead in a week anyway and your plot will be popping by then.

I seeded this AM. Fricken deer flies were just nuts. I got my seed and urea down and got the hell out. Needless to say I didnt pack. I wanted to do some loader work but the little bastards were just to thick. Here is a pic of the plot. Once I get a better pump on the sprayer I should get better results. But you can see where I sprayed.

That looks like you've got a decent kill underway. I think you'll be fine.

You live close enough to your land that #3 was the best option, but for guys who are not able to get back to their place shortly after spraying, #1 works just as well.
