Look close but there a few there. 1 out of 9 Burr oaks I planted 4-5 years ago has acorns. These were 15 year old trees when I planted them. They have not grown much since I planted them. I have no native oaks in my area so this was an experiment.

Congrats Chummer. That's awesome. Any updated photos of those trees? I remember when you planted them. They all should be producing in the next couple years. They'll be a great draw to your property when that happens.

Congrats on getting some acorns! Our deer love burr and they drop during archery season. Great job! Our season starts 9/27 and I am the only bow hunter I am aware of in the neighborhood(only a 2.5 week season). I got these trees at at a nursery sale, $50 each with free delivery. I had a backhoe to dig the holes so I jumped on it.

That's great - that's the main reason we plant them, but man does it suck waiting!

That's great - that's the main reason we plant them, but man does it suck waiting! I had given up on acorns after a couple years ago a late frost turned all the leaves black. I figured no way the being that temperamental they would produce. Hope springs eternal.

I bet SD, could suggest a fertilizer concoction for next year for them.
I'm guessing those roots were cut at the nursery before they were wrapped them so it might have set them back a little. If you got nuts this year it should get better from here on out.
