Mine came from Cummins. I only have them because they scrapped my Kerr order at shipping time and I had to pick a replacement. That is going to be a big miss if these can’t handle FB because I have a lot of it. Have you contacted Cummins? Their website says “it’s highly resistant (perhaps immune)”. I’d be interested to hear what their reply is. I’m pretty sure Stark Bros website used to say it was fireblight resistant but, that’s missing now.

No. It was 4 years ago and I never ordered from them again. I really wanted the Kerr to be my backbone tree. They didn’t tell me until they were ready to ship so I am still pissed at them.

They have a decent variety of trees, but I am not real impressed with the rootstock choices and many of the trees seem questionable in my climate.

I've always figured I just was unlucky with my orders from Cummins. Rootstocks were small and poorly rooted. Bareroot trees were small caliper and expensive. I got better trees and rootstocks from Burntridge.

I got better trees and rootstocks from Burntridge. I've lost several trees that looked healthy but, eventually snapped off at the graft union. I think 4 so far. The trees I've grafted haven't had that happen. The pear I got were a complete bust.

Now they are only an hour from me and I would love to support them but they have burned me twice. My first order was all pears that they picked for me based on zone. 8 pears to pollinate each other. 5 died the first winter, two die off to the snow line every year, and one has turned into a decent tree. Unfortunately there is nothing to pollinate it.

As i sit here at my dinning room table, my Franklin tree sits about 40 yards away girdled like a mofo from a rabbit this week.....

I checked on my two Franklin ciders yesterday. Both are at green tip. They must be more crabapple than apple. None of my other apples are to green tip yet.

I noticed green tip on some of my trees, earlier this week. My Franklin is in a lower spot where frost leaves the ground later. Maybe too low with B118 roots and perhaps I should have went m111.

I have my first Franklin apples. Unfortunately they come with fire blight. This was a mild year for FB so maybe I will get apples some years.

Somehow the two trees the rabbits got are still kicking, probably won’t make it through this winter tho. I thought the Franklin was going to have some apples but it decided to drop the 20 or so just a week or two in. It’s growing really good and seems to be disease resistant.
