Not where I thought this was headed Art. But for the record, your apples look extremely red and like they're about to fall off. Congratulations?

Some chestnut crabs are beginning to have dark seeds and are tasting better. My cousin up in zone 1 (172) says a nice buck and a couple of does are working her chestnut crab.

Garden crab(calledBig Dog when I sent it to Turkey Creek) is probably Columbia. It won't drop apples until late October into Dec. pretty much inedible for people.

This is my first bench graft to bare fruit. Golden Hornet on dolgo rootstock. It bloomed from the very first year and I pulled all of the blossoms off. I left a few blossom s on it this year.

Just a few of these were ripe on the south side of the tree. If they all taste this good, Frostbite might rate right up there with Chestnut in my view.

What I call Yellow Dog came with some flowering crab seedlings from the SWCD. It drops crabs into January.
