My buddy shot a nice 8 that was about five minutes behind a doe. Grunting and following where she walked. A little buck was right on her heels the whole time!

Not one dead deer on hwy 10 to staples. Thats odd Some are showing up on the roads to the east of ten. I wish people would slow down on our gravel roads, most are locals and they know where the deer are.

Got some rain coming in here so I will 4 hours then head home for a conjugal visit today. I will see how many are dead on the highway from missouri to des moines, that will tell the story if the rut is on or not by how many big ones are dead on the highway.

Saw 7 antlerless last night on brassica/clover. No bucks. Saw a group of 6 antlerless in the timber this am. 1 yearling buck trailing them. Ptretty poor as far as rut activity goes. Shotgun guys and boot tracks everywhere this am although very little shooting.

My 2 nephews were jumping ponds down in AZ today and got a drake wood duck and some blue wing teal. Surprising how many different ducks come down there.

There’s water in Oz? Likely more ducks in OZ during winter than in MN. Damn things are a nuisance on the golf courses. FORE!
