“This way to progress everyone.”
Health insurance premiums up 58% for 2018 where I work. Company reduced plans to a single HSA offering. I hope that f@(&ing snake is enjoying his retirement.

This is fucking crazy. Seems like that last several years any raises I have gotten get all gobbled up by increases in Health Insurance coverage. What a fucking Joke.
I just cross my fingers no ER visit is needed. I have no idea what the costs would end up being, but it would easily eat up all of an annual raise or at least most of it. How sad.

Last year when I went into ER for my chest pains and later admitted to hospital for further testing, the total cost came to over 16,000 dollars. Ended up being acid reflux. I was there for less than 24 hours. After deductibles and 10 percent cost share I paid over 2 grand out of my pocket.

How many of you would like to pop smiling Chuck Schumer now? They gloated that the Obamacare wasn't overturned now we reap what they sowed. My company, hasn't even mentioned open enrollment yet. Sounds like I'm screwed too.

I'm setting through the meeting right now...waiting for them to get to the cost increase portion...but you can enroll children up to the age of 26... come on, at what point are they adults on their own.

This is the scariest thing for me as I think about retirement. Until then, I'm riding the wife's gov't job health plan thank goodness. It almost feels like stealing, but I'll take it.

Sounds like I'm screwed too. It's sad you can't start a conversation about reform without being attached by the left. Washington has been broken a long time but its impact on societies contributors is growing in materiality. Many people have to work to 65 for medicare or work part time in retirement so they can pay their healthcare, bad state of affairs.
I've got friends and acquaintances who are paying $25k per year for a couple, its ridiculous considering most don't make claims and only get to carry around a little card saying they are insured.

Thats scary. 25k cash removed from your nestegg annually for healthcare coverage. That is the going rate. My neighbor at the farm pays 25k for him and his wife as they are both employees of their farm. A past co-worker/boss I keep in touch with pays $25k for him and his wife as they retired early.
Its only going to get worse unless something is done to turn off the money tap pouring into healthcare.

Well the company has good news.....and bad news..... The good news is you still have insurance.....the bad news is it costs you more and covers less.... Oh, but we as an organization are going to ask for more of you with less and less resources....for the same amount of pay....times are tough you know......we appreciate your understanding....thank you and have a nice day!
And they wonder why folks go postal!
You want to clean up health care - suspend the health care the politicians get and make them have to use the same system as we do. Same thing with Social Security and the like. It doesn't get fixed because there is too much money changing hands to keep it from changing. When those people that make the rules have to play by the same rules...shit changes...real quick!
