Balmy -29 and we haven’t quite reached the coldest part of the morning. Also a slight breeze.
I am not cutting a hole in the ice for a few hours at least.

I think I'd be tempted to get a good fishing Kayak from Hobie and try my hand at the back bays. What a way to spend a day. The place we stayed last year had kayaks we could have used on the canal. We were only there for a few days so we didn't use them. Stay for a month and I'd probably try to figure out how they work. I watch to much discovery channel, gators, snakes, sharks, a dinosaur I don't know about in the water. kayak? Hell no!

The end of today's walk. Different beach. More commercial buildings. Still, there's plenty of privacy in the morning. We hit the beaches mid-morning and stay until noon - 2. Probably only walked 1.5 - 2 miles today. Calf muscles were still screaming though, walking in sand is a whole different deal.

Can anybody walk or fish on any beach out there or will you get charged for trespassing if you walk on the wrong beach?

Can anybody walk or fish on any beach out there or will you get charged for trespassing if you walk on the wrong beach? There's a ton of public beaches. I'm not sure if anyone actually owns the beach anywhere or if they have the similar rule in WI where if you're w/in the OHWM you're good to go. I think access is more crucial.

Beach Users The public has a right of access along the beaches and shorelines of Florida situated below the “mean high tide line” (see diagram below). Article X, Section 11 of the Florida Constitution clarifies that the state holds the land seaward of the mean high-tide line (MHTL) in trust for the public. This is commonly known as the “Public Trust Doctrine.” Traditionally, the public trust doctrine contemplated fishing, commerce, and navigation as a basis for public access, but more recently has been expanded to embrace recreational uses such as bathing and swimming. As part of the public trust doctrine, beaches are essential public coastal recreational resources. Providing coastal recreational opportunities accessible to the public is a fundamental objective set forth in the State’s Comprehensive Plan. Specifically, Section 187.201(8)(b)(2) of the Florida Statutes seeks to “Ensure the public’s right to reasonable access to beaches. In Florida, unless the dry sand is already owned for public use (such as in local, state, or federal parks), private beachfront property extends to the MHTL. Although property below the MHTL belongs to the state, private property owners may have the ability to exclude public access to or through their property

With all of the public beaches, I haven't paid any attention. There are no shortages of places where the public can go hang out, walk, fish, whatever

I should add that the beaches would be a target rich environment for young fellers like SD, Wade, and badgerfowl. I haven't taken any pics, mainly because I'm with the wife and don't want to be arrested for being a perv...but there's plenty of nice scenery. Venice beach especially

I saw pretty slim pickings where we were, unless old wrinkly, leathered skin is your thing.

Families and college kids were thick Saturday through today. Mainly afternoons. Old people still dominate in the morning.

It was not crowded at two of them though. Last place was packed.
