We got lightening, wind, and hail last night. I suppose hail is like snow as it isn't liquid water.
Quite a few out of control fires this past week. Supposed to get plenty of rain this weekend. Will be nice to wet the vegetation down and let some green pop up. I always worry during fire season when it's windy.

Barley starts accumulating GDUs north of 32. I'm already behind now. I've got my heart set on those four days of rain.

I don't know why I didn't check this sooner. We are in a drought. I don't know that we've ever been D1 since we've owned stab camp. Might make growing tricky as spring rolls in. Now I'm rooting for that snow to hold on until we get back up there to plant this weekend.

Nope. I lived through extensive fires as a wee youngster. I had classmates And friends where their Dad struggled to save their homes and sent the family East towards lake country. Others lost homes. One friends Dad died from lung cancer and we wondered if the smoke from the fire while he battled for his house was part of it.

I'm still grilling. I made a whole grill full of stuff last weekend and brought it back for lunch this week. That was a nice treat.

Last weekend I made 4 pork steaks and a ribeye. This week will be a couple types of pork burgers, a couple ribeye, a couple pork steaks, and maybe some summer sausage. I got some ground pork outta my fronts that I had cut up recently. That stuff has been really good, so I seasoned it like a pork chop, mixed it back up, and threw it in the freezer last night.

This is unacceptable. I’d like to speak with the manager. My Yelp review will not be positive.

I think I'm going to take monday / tuesday off and see if I can spread a ton of lime on my new plot before the snow. My neighbor tells me it's plenty firm right now for an AtV. If we get a foot of snow, the melt will make it a mess for a while.

The entity from whom the weather is reported has adjusted their temp forecast up. I'm getting optomistic we're gonna see a green carpet emerging in two weeks.

I went outside in a T-shirt this afternoon to prune a few apple trees. It was 68 degrees. I was drenched in sweat when I came in. Amazing how 60s here seems warm but, 60s in the south is cold.
