Windchill in the teens in April sucks. However, temps in the 90s in April also doesn't sound like anything I'd want.
Sun, light wind, and upper 50s to upper 60s...that's what I'd like in April
I swallowed my first black fly of the year today while spreading seed. They swarmed for a few minutes when it was calm. The winds picked up and they disappeared. I think we hit 60 today. I was sweating.
I'm glad you guys enjoy it there. That kind of heat for that much of the year isn't for me.
I'm not sure there's anywhere in the U.S. I could move to and be happy with the weather most of the time.
I would be pretty happy if every winter was like this one. I'm guessing the winter weather we had this year is what southern Iowa or northern Missouri has most years. I could certainly get used to that type of weather provided the summer weather isn't unbearably hot.
I agree that this winter was pretty great. I imagine we'll pay for it next year.
By the time you get to southern IA, people start talking funny...or they think you sound funny. Trying to integrate into the rural south/Bible belt states may not be all that easy.

I spent part of one summer selling farm machinery attachments in Georgia and Alabama for a time. It was so freaking hot and humid at the end of the day...that we would crank up the A/C back at the hotel.....and take a siesta to cool down before going out for happy hour and some dinner. The humidity in the Deep South is hard for me to handle.

yep, the deep south is definitely not for me...unless it's right on the Gulf or Atlantic. Those breezes coming off the water make for decent summer living, but you gotta be on or very near the water. Since I don't gamble and therefore wont be winning the lottery, and don't have an extra million laying around collecting dust...that ain't happening.

I like the coming rain,,,,, but NOT over the entire weekend.... its panfish time. At my old age, I melt in the rain... LOLLL AKA, fairweather fisherman.
