Let 2 forks and 3 8's besides the one I shot walk within 25 yards. So 6 for the year. That's a pretty good year. Think I had about 3 or 4 last year. None the year before.

In Minnesota I probably passed 11-12 bucks before I shot my buck, most of those in OTC.
Iowa, I would say 5 buck passed before I shot my buck

I would say I had 4 chances as well I expected you guys with good deer numbers would do better. yeah it was a weird year, lots of does, but very little for buck sightings with most being forks.

In 7 days of rifle season, I saw 7 different bucks, some multiple times. 3 branch antlered and the rest were dinks. Some of the trail cam regulars never showed. Rut dispersal I suppose. Does & fawns were everywhere.

It seemed like we had about the same amount of bucks around as last year, but the doe/fawn population is definitely higher this year. Hard to tell how many more deer were pulled in to the fresh logging and stayed, but it certainly helped. There has been some logging done in phases on the county ground over the last couple decades, but this was the largest one yet by far and the first since I bought in 2010. The clearcuts also gave us opportunities to see quite a few deer that we normally wouldn't have. I know I had a lot more deer last year than when I first bought the place, but this new 90 acre food supply has definitely helped too.

0 buck opportunities for me so far. My goal this year was to get the nephew his first deer. Mission accomplished. I can hunt through December 15 so I still have time but, I'd rather start the chainsaw up.

I have had 4 bucks within bow range so far. One of those is a 2 year old that I passed twice.
1 additional young buck when hunting with my daughter.
Still have some bowhunting to do so hopefully that number increases.
