Ogemaone,
Is the trap anchored with a stake or is it attached to that small log? Where'd you order your traps?

Ogemaone, Is the trap anchored with a stake or is it attached to that small log? Where'd you order your traps? I anchor my traps with Berkshire stakes. I buy all my traps and supplies from www.minntrapprod.com/ they are good people to deal with. I usually put a small log behind the dirt hole. The dirt hole is pounded into ground at a 45 angle towards the trap. So the the coyote has to come in from the trap side. The log is supposed to help direct the yote to the trap side.

I usually use rebar with a washer welded to an end. Something that lets the chain swivel is important. Used grapples before too.

Great work Ogemaone!! I've been trying to line up a trapper Education class so I can trap next year. They are required here but, the state has very few classes and they're always booked. This guy guy wants to get killed.

I found out I may be able to trap on my land without having to take the class. I'm waiting on confirmation from my DNR. It's too late for here this year but, I'm going to try next year. Keep at it Ogemaone. Your boys are getting some great memories.

That is how Wisconsin is. If you are on your own land you can trap it. You can trap yotes and coon any time on your land.
