So how do people spray and fertilize broadcasted beans when you don't have rows to drive down? Does it kill the beans whenever you drive over them with an ATV/UTV? Is that just part of issue with broadcasting them? Or should i start looking for a grain drill and make things easier on myself?

No difference in making rows from driving on the beans when spraying or with a planter.

No difference in making rows from driving on the beans when spraying or with a planter. So this is not a concern at all and I can just go with my original plan on broadcasting and packing them in.

Sweet. You lose anything or do the beans just come back where you drive over them? Depends how far along they are. The later into plant growth, the more the chance of reducing a comeback.

My beans bounced back, I will see if I can find some pictures. I thought I had killed them where I drove on them.

So getting on them early to spray and fertilize is the key. At what height do you guys normally do these things? 6"?

Best is to have it in the ground, broke down and readily available when the plant needs it. So the fall before.

This year I put fert down prior to planting and lightly worked into ground. I also sprayed once, one week prior to planting. I was told to spray a second 2 time weeks after bean emergence or 3-4 weeks after planting.
I think the 3-4 weeks is too long and will do about two weeks next year.

Don't know who told you what, but its always good to put down a pre before the beans are up. May not have to come back and spray a post pass. If you do have to spray a post pass, spray when the weeds are 1-2". Don't do it by weeks....
