I text with a good friend from Iowa today and he’s been hitting the predators hard ! Hundreds of racoons, possum etc..
The amount of turkeys and pheasants he has on his farm has increased dramatically! Like night and day ! They have a huge impact !
…lots young ones surviving!

Lots of pheasant chicks were saved there. Those raccoons are great apple tree fertilizer as well.

My wife saw and almost smoked the first pheasant chicks of the year yesterday in front of our house on the road. Good to hear on my end. I knew we had one nesting close.

My cousin has been trapping coon the last 4 years. This is the first year where we have seen turkey poults in summer and we have 2 different hens that have some. He is beyond happy to see them.
