It's 75/25 venison to pork butt and I ate it too fast for pics. What recipe or blend did you use for those brats? That looks great. I need to give that a try. I used this recipe but with a bit more jalepenos, substituting the 75/25 ratio instead of all pork(and omitting the veal). Also used high temp cheddar instead of regular cheddar. Regular cheese melts too quickly and cooks out.I used pork butt for the fat. I play around with recipes to my liking. Sometimes it works, other times not so much. www.macheesmo.com/making-bratwurst/

My folks used to love the stuff. I just can't stomach fish jello. I see a number of places in the area are having lutefisk feeds.

Believe me, I am only doing it because we talked about it at Thanksgiving and wanted to bring back childhood memories of going to Grandmas house. I have not eaten it since I was maybe 10. I have vivid memories of walking in the house and smelling it. The look of gellatinous fish. The foul texture.
My sisters and Mom said it would be fun to do it in Grandmas memory. So we are doing it.

Lutefisk...does anybody actually eat the stuff? Tastes just like those big head carp that batman catches doesn't it? I don't know. The last time I tried it I was a teenager. I do like the meatballs and lefse that usually accompany lutefisk dinners, but the fucking smell of the fish alone can be a bit off-putting

I think the only fish on the planet that tastes worse would be this....
Go straight to 2:30... If Andrew Zimmern is taken back by the smell and taste, that says a lot.

Tried something new. Dolgo apple sauce with a bit of artificial sweetener and chopped walnuts. Excellent!

Tried something new. Dolgo apple sauce with a bit of artificial sweetener and chopped walnuts. Excellent! I tried an old recipe of apple sauce with shredded cheddar cheese. Dolgo sauce overpowered the cheddar. So then I through in some walnuts. Cheddar added body, walnuts added taste and crunch. Now I am thinking about spice to add.

Flavor is similar to that ground raw cranberry/ walnut mix my Mom used to make.
