I've had a landscape rake for several years. Bought it used. Mine is an old Ford Industrial rake. Does a nice job in some areas. I like it for removing sticks after logging, grading a driveway, leveling land, and it does a fair job as a field cultivator if the trash is not too plentiful.
I made a mount to put mine on the loader of my tractor.....so now I can "push" logging debris into piles.....and then move the piles with my grapple (I hope). Planning to go at this project in a few days.....and I may gain up to an acre or two if this works out.

Thx Tom. That's what I was wondering about. I'll keep an eye out for 1 when I come up this fall.

The worst part about a landscape rake is that the teeth clog up with sticks allot and they are hard to remove. In heavy debris it can load up pretty fast behind the tractor.....and its kinda. a pain to clean it out. Also your always driving thru the trash. This is why I got a mount to put mine on the front of the loader. I got allot of slash to buck.....and I hope this will make it a bit easier. Stay tuned. If you are looking for a solution for a few days this fall.....maybe I could be persuaded to loan my rake to you. Might cost you a six pack. .

I'm just looking for one for next spring when I'll have some corn and grass clumps on my plots once i plow again. If I don't find one it's not a big deal. I'll just pick stuff up by hand like i did this spring.

A digger works great for debris clean up.

A digger works great for debris clean up. Got one but only seems to pull more shit up the more I use it.

In sod I try to roll over the grass and keep it under. If I go threw with the digger too much it pulls all that grass up and makes for more work removing it. With the rake I can pull all the surface debris without pulling up new grass.

Gotcha. I have only used my diggerscto drag off corn stubble debris off my fields. Works great for that.

I cleaned up about 1/2 acre of slash and debris from logging today....using my landscape rake and my grapple. Was really nice using the auto throttle feature and the AC was great. I need to grind a few remaking stumps....then I can disk and plant this extension of my large bean plot. Maybe next spring I willl lime it and plant some brassica or??

That looks real good. Do you have to add a lot of lime and fertilizer there to get it ready to plant? I haven't had the best luck with brassicas the first year on a new plot. Seems like the nitrogen is tied up from sticks and trash and there are tons of weeds. I like going with round up ready beans that first year so I can to take out the first crop of weeds.

^. That is a great idea Ben. Had not thought about the RR Beans to control the weeds. I think I will do that next year for this new area.
My dirt is about 5.5 on the acidy side......so if I put about 1 to 2 tons of lime....I can get it up to nearly 7. Really seems to help with the growth of almost everything. I need to do some soil testing.....and likely will buy a load of lime for next Spring. I have not spread a large area of lime for about six years now.....and I have opened up new ground with a little pell lime to get me by. So I think I am due for a major lime job. I got a great lime spreader waiting for a workout.....so if I get enough new land ready yet this year......I think I will buy a big (23 ton) load of domestic lime to spread on my plots. I'm up to about 7 or 8 acres of plots....plus some of my clover trails could use a shot too.
