6 hours of mowing is a great way to break er in! How is the noise reduction in the cab? It was fantastic. Very quiet.....super A/C and I listened to the radio. It's a little hard to get used to.....as I am always listening to the tractor "work" and the cutter grinding stuff.....but on this unit you really dont know much about what is happening. (they say ignorance is bliss?). Seemed very stabil....and not tippy feeling compared to my JD. I had beet juice added to the rear tires....and that really provides traction and stability to boot. Anyway.....it has about 20% more power and weight and ability than my old ride. Seems to be a great fit for my land and my existing equipment. Was not horribly painful (price wise) to buy for me.......and should last me a long, long time. . I did already knock one of those flashing lights off on a branch......and I am going to remove some of those flashers as they are just going to be trouble for me. I can see if you were working in the city where these may be good (snow plowing and such)......but for my purposes they are just something waiting to get knocked off and broken.....so what is the point? When I get to a brushy "tight spot'......it seems that if I go slow and just let the branches and brush ride over the tractor....they do little harm. I may get some scratches and chit.....but I am quite used to driving scratched-up 'chinery......and that will not prevent me from operating in "the bush". . All-in-all.....I think I bought the right product. OH.....and the dealer told me they are making more of the plate I wanted for this tractor......and will put them on every unit they sell. Thanked me profusely for "standing my ground" on this issue.....and think it was a super idea. . (I rest my case.)

OH....when I was about 7/8 done with what I had planned to mow today......I hit a big stump.....and bent my stump-jumper on my Rotary Cutter.......which shut down the tractor (due to the stall guard feature). The stump jumper pan is bent up against the frame of the cutter....so I need to take it apart and either replace it .....or get it straightened out again. I think I hit a few stumps and rocks today......and need to get my stump grinder hooked up and clean up a few more hazards. It never ends. .

Priced a stump jumper for my Bush Hog. $335. plus shipping. Yowsir. Seems crazy for a disk of steel with a welded plate on it. I think I will see about having my old one straightened out or check eBay.

Been wondering that same thing Jerry. They say that the Flail mowers are more expensive to maintain......but I think you can get away with hitting stumps with the knives without much issue. I think its more bearings and that rear roller that cost.....and the blades (hammers or knife type) dont last forever. I did price a set of hammers for the one I looked into....and an entire set was about $150. Not too shabby. They are said to be safe to be around....a big plus. I almost bought a used Woodmaxx Flail mower from a guy in Idaho. He only used it two hours or so.....but he had the wrong knives on it.....and shipping and his discount to me kinda offset the gains in buying it used. Also lost the warranty on it. So....it was a no-go for both of us. If your interesting in a Flail Mower.....I think that Woodmaxx would be the brand I would buy. I like that hydraulic offset model.....as you could reach into the brush on the side of my trials.....as in one of the pics above.......without driving your tractor (and its cab) in the brush. .

My son-in-law is here for the weekend.snd the weather being what it is, he agree to help me get that bent stump jumper off my cutter. It was jammed tight against the underside frame.....but nothing more was broke. It took a little heat but we finally broke it loose. A replacement costs $339 plus shipping so I’m gonna see about getting the welding shop getting this straightened out and maybe reenforced a bit. Should work fine.

Thats the way they all look.......all the time. Torch the bent piece off and keep going! Nope....then it’s out of balance and shakes stuff about. I will spend a few bucks to heat it up and get it poundeded back till true Maybe add some iron equally to both ends to keep in balance I hate it when stuff shakes and interrupts my tunes.
