Acorns in SE 601 are dropping like crazy. Sounds like it would be dagerous to be on stand. Havent seen this many in the nine years i have been here.

If your stand is in those oaks take a rake and clear the leaves from underneath the trees you want them to go to. They should hit those trees sooner due to easier pickings. Report back the results.

I was in MN for a few days last weekend. Oak trees, hazelnuts and other natural foods were loaded in Carlton county. Bear hunters said very little activity on their baits. I also stopped at my uncle's house in Burnsville before flying out and it was constantly raining acorns on his roof and deck. We have a lot of burs and some that look like possible hybrids. And some red oaks as well. Majority of burs have less than half of the cap covering the acorn.
