Got mine in 2012. Hope this helps.
Seriously though, what varieties did you order? My Burnt Ridge trees are my best looking ones. I was not real impressed when they arrived but they've done great. Have ate apples off all of them. Sweet 16, Honeycrisp, Hudson's Golden Gem, and Wolf River.

I agree on my only other Burnt Ridge on the quality. Last go round was Dolgo’s. This time around I went with a Lucious Pear and Parker Pear (I think...) I guess we’ll find out when they arrive!

I also saw that I was charged from Burnt Ridge, but my rootstock hasn't arrived yet either. I hope they arrive today because I'd like to do some grafting this weekend.

Kokusa mulberry was in the ground within less than an hour of delivery. The rootstocks are soaking overnight. Tomorrow they'll go in the beer fridge, then get grafted on Monday. I forgot to mention a few ussurian pear rootstocks, they are also soaking.

Have you had grafting survival issues in the past when the rootstock was leafed out?No, I haven't. I also haven't bench grafted all that many leafed out rootstocks. It would seem to me to be pretty much like top working. When topworking, a grafter should wait until the rootstock/tree has leafed out. I think apples and pears are quite forgiving. Get the cambiums matched up and more often than not they'll take. Having dormant scions is the most important part of the process
