Looks to be north of me about 40 miles closer to mnaaron and the large swamps in that area. My guess is the wolf on Bwoods camera is a single young male checking the area.
Not a good sign as they are getting closer every year.

No, Henning Swamps are between Henning and Deer Creek. Not sure if it also includes the stuff more to the east or what.
The main population is in NE OTC. The ones trapped were much closer to your area.

That is nuts. I am not sure how bad they are up there, but I did talk to a guy who has a large farm to my north and he said they are around, not really a problem to him so far. I also saw a fisher on camera three different times

We have had wolves in our area for a number of years and federal trappers come down quite often to trap them. One spot I hunt use to have 2-5 wolves a year come off of it. I use to see them in the traps every once in a while. We could shoot them when they were in the traps but couldn't remove them from the traps. If memory serves me right I don't think they ever trapped the large male that ran the pack. All the wolves were younger animals. It seemed they came through every 3-4 days or that is at least what we figured back in the day.
I have not heard much about wolves the past couple of years...they are around but not as thick.

Most likely its something were going to have to live and deal with.

Wolves pass through an area while looking for food or to establish new packs. If an area has food...they stay

Wolves pass through an area while looking for food or to establish new packs. If an area has food...they stay Then they will go right through BLB farm!! Just kidding! Question, anyone found that human scent or just plain interaction on the farm, keeps the wolves away? I thought it might help if we make random appearance on the farm, check cameras, obviously hunt, chainsaw, maybe even leave out some apples for the deer this summer.

I am sure human activity would help keep them away however probably just during daylight hours. The farms where we see wolves do have a fair amount of activity. For example on ours we were out there a lot doing habitat work and it never scared away the wolves. I think our pack was fairly small 3-5 animals is my guess...maybe that is a normal pack for all I know.

Everything I've been hearing and reading is that wolves in the Great Lakes States are losing/have lost their fear of humans and human scent.

If there is a food source they will stay. Probably over 70 % of the bear baits that we bait have wolves visiting them on a regular basis. Even if your deer numbers are low the wolf will go to where the highest deer concentrations are in the area.

Agreed, my uncle lives on his farm year round and human scent does not bother them if there's food around. He'll see them go threw without a care.

You know, I haven't heard a story of a purse dog getting eaten in Duluth in a while. I wonder if the locals have wised up finally and keep their pets on a short leash why they make doo doo pies in the yard?
