So how would it work if a person mixed an annual with a perennial.

I mix annual clovers with perennial clovers all the time. Usually works pretty good for me.
I hit the weeds with a hot dose of glyphosate. Since they're so small, I'm hopeful that will take care of them. If it doesn't, I'll go back with some Crossbow or Trimec I guess.

One berseem plot is a total waste. Nothing but a field of weeds. Fucking waterhemp just keeps germinating from the seed bank. I'll be nuking this plot with a hot dose of gly and Trimec soon. I need to check the other berseem plot, but I don't have high hopes
edit...I nuked this plot with gly/Trimec/Crossbow mix today. I'm very disappointed with the Frosty berseem. There is very, very little clover growing. We've had plenty of rain and the soil on this plot is relatively heavy. It should have germinated. Not sure if the weeds have some allelopathic qualities, if the berseem seed was bad, or....?
I haven't checked the other plot yet, maybe tomorrow.

I finally got over to my other Frosty berseem plot today. It has a decent stand of the stuff and the deer have been keeping it "mowed" to right around 6". There's also a bunch of weeds (some of which are also being browsed), so I think I'll nuke it and plant it brassicas soon. Frosty berseem appears to need a warm seed bed to take off quickly. I won't be spring planting it again.

I broadcast brassica seed and sprayed this plot today. The berseem looked pretty good to be honest. If I had sprayed this plot with cleth and butyrac this spring, I think the berseem would have been really thick. To be fair, I will likely give the stuff another chance in the future.

It's part of my annual clover mix, along with Fixation Balansa and Crimson. In my VAST TWO YEAR experience food plotting I can tell you it grows pretty well. I mixed it with brassica last year and it, well all of the clovers, grew nicely.

I planted some last August and it really cranked out some tonnage in a short time. What I had hoped (and think can be done now) was that a guy could spring plant the stuff, get good deer chow growing through spring/summer, and provide a bunch of N for a summer brassica planting.

I do admit I’m thinking about omitting the crimson next year and just using the fancy purple and orange clover.

At least the seed I got from deer creek was two years in a row. You're right. I wasn't thinking about the seed coating. Good call Let me know if you notice any re-seeding of the Fixation
