When did Bonide get rid of their captan product? Where do you get it from, after spraying yesterday, looks like if I spray again in 3 weeks I'll be pretty much out. I bought a 5 lb bag of captan a few years ago. Not sure where I got it...somewhere on the interwebs

One thing about very little rain in May is that I haven't seen a single orange blob in a red cedar this spring

I sprayed my first mix of captan/imidan on Saturday morning. I was about 5 days late and the little green worms were already doing their thing to the new leaf growth. Hopefully it smoked them!

I was intending to spray this next week but wonder if it is worth it. Trees on the top of the hill seem to be dropping fruit or it is shriveling up. I might wait until the weekend and see if we get much rain.

^^^I've got fruit dropping too. At this point I think it's just normal June drops I hope you are correct. I was looking at my Petite Seour plum. Either it didn’t get pollinated or the fruit has all dried up. Maybe it even froze. I need a stool to look higher on the graft.

I am puzzled. My trees completed the bloom process despite the cold temps. Now if you touch any of the would be fruit it just falls off. I would have thought the blossoms would have died in the cold but apparently they were infertile despite still blooming.

Many fruit trees bloom prolifically, but do not set anywhere near that number of fruit

^^^I would think at least some fruitlets would form unless you had some hard frosts We went to 22 at the beginning of the bloom and had two 30’s at the end.

^^^22 may doom your fruit production then I figured. I was surprised it had no effect on the appearance of the blossoms. Bloom just ended a few days ago so hopefully some show. It did see a couple on one of the early bloomers that looked good. I guess I will find out in a week or two.

No pictures, but tent caterpillars were pretty thick at my cabin last weekend. They were just starting to eat the leaves, so I think I caught them at the right time. I'm sure that more will move in, but at least I killed a bunch of them. Those are disgusting little creatures.
