Yes UTV is better in so many ways UTV require a wider trail and a much larger turn around area. If you have allot of stops and your on and off I'll choose an ATV every time. hauling stuff and people or implements the UTV wins.

The difference in stability alone is enough to make the decision for me. Dump box, etc. Go UTV and don’t look back

I have a Honda UTV and a Kawa 4 Wheeler. The UTV is not quite as nimble and takes more to turn around. But the ablity to ride with another sitting side by side is pretty nice. The bed in my Honda Pioneer 500 also converts to haul 4 people. around. This is really a nice feature during hunting season and for a land tour, etc. Nice for hauling gear too - chainsaws, wood, tools etc. With an ATV you are always strapping stuff down......where a UTV allows you to just put it in the box and go.
I really like getting behind the windsheild for protection from brush on trails. If you want to drive one......make a drive to my place. Compare.

Many more pros for our type of work. However, I finally bought a ATV two years ago so I have the option. The atv is much lighter and easier on the trails and beans for spraying. It also is more nimble and can go a lot more places the UTV can't. However, if I had to pick it would be UTV all day long if I only could have one. And with this flair mower thing having a steering wheel and a gas pedal will be great. To me this is an easy choice to go UTV if you are only going to have one machine.

Art wasn't sold on the concept though.

This thing is creeping up quickly from $6500 for a Rancher, to $9000 for a Foreman, and now it's looking like $12000 for a SxS.
Current thought is a Foreman with a pull behind dump cart. While not as ideal, I don't think the convenience merits the increased cost. Lots of other things I can get done with that extra $3000.

If I was you I would see if I could borrow a side-by-side for a day and not only test drive it but put it to use. Do some projects with it and you’ll see the added convenience

If you go SXS I don't think you need to go new. If you go Honda ATV it sometimes seems to pay to buy new due to high resale values. FWIW I paid $7500 for my Kawasaki Mule and it only had 100 hours on it.

I like where your head's at. Gotta get a little more frame and power steering through. When the time is right, I'll put a bounty out there for you savvy shoppers to dig up the deal of the century. I'm terrible at finding deals on that stuff. It'd help if I ever got some foundational skills in mechanics instead of spending time in advanced algebra and spanish 1-3.

Do some searching. When I bought my wheeler i found a dealer than had brand new non current year models. In 2011 I bough a brand new 2009 cat. Got full warranty and saved thousands of $$$$$$$$$. Granted I had to drive 1.5 hours to get it but well worth the trip.

Man Foggy, I just saw a Pioneer with the back seats folded up for back seat riding and I like that feature! I didn’t do enough research I guess before I bought my Ranger this spring I guess. That would have been nice for my family of 5!
