Red root pigweed is very common in our area. Controlled easily with pre emerge herbicides. No pre and you let it get over 4” tall? Good luck.
And as we haven’t had enough problems, waterhemp, sorta pigweed is showing signs of resistance to the new Enlist herbicide. (2,4D choline)

If you spray according to the label it does a great job. When these guys don’t use enough water and spray pigweed 4’ tall, we see plenty of escapes. Does surfactant play a role at all? Doesn’t seem to. Height seems to be the biggest factor. Then water volume. Taller the plant the more the water is needed.

I stayed my pigweed a few days before comin to the hospital....for the third time this year. I’m afraid to see what I got when I get back Chit is crazy Been using that chit you sold to me.....almost gone now. It smokes the pigweed...but shortly after.....it’s back. Is it pigweed or waterhemp? Good question. I identified it as water hemp last year (which is a pigweed variety) and it kills just fine with the chem you sold me (Interline?....IIRC). Fast kill result. Chit just finds a way to bounce back....again and again. On another note...how many beer cans did you bounce off them Biden stickered cars? . Grin.

Cloudy and cool, it will burn it down and grow right back. It worked great this year.

Right after logging I was busy with allot of other stuff....and never recognize what some of these new things were.....and I just didn't deal with it.. Ignorance is bliss?? Not sure where it came from....but a full season sure can make allot of seeds. Sure screwed my plot plans.

Dry AMS is better when it’s marginal on the temp. Weed height is the key. 4” and down. Remember Liberty is a burner, glyphosate is a systemic killer. 2 totally different modes of action. I won’t be home for a few weeks.

OK.....but, that is just like Mr.Haney (remember Green Acres?) .....never there when peep's need you. (just pulling your chain.....I knew you were going and I had no more time to do more than I have. I will get along just fine.....not real worried......thanks for the advice). I may try to hose this chit down one more time....before I plant lots of rye and clover to get rid of the pigweed. One can hope.

Took an hour to run up to my land and check on the pigweed issues I am having. I got a very good kill on this stuff in my plots. I did see a few large ones that I missed.....but I may be able to spot spray those few plants or pull em out later this weed. I was just out of time to spend there.....and had to get home to Ms Foggy. Then when I stop at my shed.....I spot a few of those SOB's sprouting right in front of my overhead door. Not sure if I dragged the seeds back on my equipment.....or if it is a bit of spillage out of my seed bags. Dayum!! Took a picture to get some positive ID on what kinda pigweed I got going here. What say the experts???

What say the experts??? I would say that is plain old red pigweed. I looked at the picture and the scientific name popped into my head. I learned that name 45 years ago in vet school.
