Trailman and Dolgo applesauce. Here is a contrast of color and taste that you won’t find in the grocery store. Amazing how red that red flesh apple sauce is. It looks like catchup. Do you add any spices like cinnamon.

That looks good. And also time consuming - it must take a while to peel those little apples. How much sugar do you put in for a standard batch of applesauce? Do you vary the sugar amount based on apple variety or keep it constant? I don’t peel the apples. For dolgo, I just rinse, pull the stem off, and cook. For chestnut and Trailman, I rinse, cut in half, and cook. They cook faster if halved or quartered. We don’t add sugar, but just freeze. My wife usually adds no sweetener when she eats it. I often add Stevia right before eating.

I picked a bucket of chestnut crabs as they appear to be at peak flavor as I wanted to make apple sauce.
We have 57 bags of applesauce in the freezer.

Made about 8 gallons of cider today. I think I had 8 varieties of apples in it.

Are you ordering for wildlife or for home use? Do you want to make sauce, cider, or eating apples? I would get B118 unless your location is very wet or heavy soil.

I am in a mode to plant one of everything. Lolll.
I have no preference on usage.
Soil at cabin is lighter. Not terrible. Soil at farm is very good. I have them just above a slough edge.

Kerr is great for a later dropping crab. Trailman ripens a bit ahead of chestnut. Dolgo is almost foolproof. I think all four are almost fool proof. The bigger apples I will let Stu answer for.

Tomato juice is done for the next couple years. 54 quarts there, still have 6 old ones on hand, and a partial in the fridge.
