Piggyback off another thread. How are your neighbors as far as hunting, habitat, management, hunting pressure.... curious to hear.
(BLB feel free to unload😊)

Farm I recently sold had no activity from the neighbors... It was a glorious thing that I took for granted.. New farm which is smaller is good up until rifle season. Thats when the neighbors show up and it absolutely sucks. Ride atv's like crazy during the gun opener. Shoot whatever moves. The timber on the new place is wide open (will be fixed soon) so daylight activity shuts down totally once they start their ATV offroad park and camp generator running.. Ohhh well. Just come to the conclusion I need to get one on the ground before mid Nov rifle... Nice enough neighbors. Just different mind set than myself.

My place is an island, I have AG fields on three sides and a land locked 40 which isn't hunted on the 4th side. There is no bow hunting next to me but I do get occasional rifle hunting on my northern border. Luckily its only my neighbors nephew and he appears to only hunt every 2-3 years. My guess is he has better options rather than hunting a narrow strip my neighbor owns.
I have offered to buy some land from the two neighbors adjacent to me but so far no luck. My neighbor does plant a rotation of corn/beans/potatoes which does significantly change where the deer travel. If my neighbor has picked everything and then disked his soil my plots are a nice magnet for the deer near me.
I'm very fortunate from the direct neighbor standpoint but get one neighbor over and things change.

Only problem at the new place is the neighbor lives there’s and makes a racket all the time. Engines running, pounding whatever the fuck he can pound on. Doesn’t seem to bother the deer though so whatever. A few bow hunters but none seemed to affect anything. Plenty of shooting during gun season. Overall after one year can’t complain about much other than the noise.

I’ve got a great neighbor (480 acres) limited hunting and no food plots. I’m right to the west of him with a lot of food. On the same property we have a group of guys that are very bad hunters to the west. Golf carts, loud, get out to stand late, wound a couple deer each year. Such a contrast.
Iowa neighbors are tremendous. They pass everything under 150, shoot primarily 5 yrs or up. The other neighbor barely hunts.

I've got an aging bunch of neighbors. Not much for habitat work going on, a couple of nice food plots, but most rely on surrounding ag fields. Lots of rifle hunting and brown is down crowd. A couple big horn hunters in the area, but not much for info sharing. As long as the meth heads stay off my property, I'm happy enough with the situation.

Only one bad group of neighbors for the two properties I hunt. The others are courteous neighbors who don’t trespass often and I usually know one of them duck hunts just a bit on opener.
The bad group seems to hunt often all fall with rifles. Felons in that bunch.
I try not to worry about which deer neighbors shoot. I do have more concerns about too many does being shot rather than worrying about young bucks. Too many doe permits can really hurt.
I know, I said TRY to not worry about what the neighbors shoot. They need to enjoy their hunt in their own way and me in my way.

Neighbor to the north is across the hiway and on the path to crops. He doesn’t hunt but he does shoot some. The piece next to him gets driven once per year. It’s mostly a sanctuary and I expect a buck bedding area.
No sign of hunting on the east side. Previous owner leased it to Amish many years ago and they shot the place up. A local farmer bought it not long after I bought my place. I plan to meet him and see if I can get permission.
Neighbor to the south owns several hundred acres. They drive once or twice per year and throw lead during gun season. He always calls me the night before they drive so I can hunt my south ridge and possibly benefit from their hunt. My aunt and uncle killed several nice bucks due to their drives. I haven’t gun hunted at all but I might try it next year.
His son did spook a young buck from near me when I was on stand near the line. He was squirrel hunting on his side. When he saw me, he changed course to give me space.
The same guy lets me turkey hunt his land so I don’t have anything to complain about. I’d rather they hunt their way because I am left alone bow hunting.

We went out tonite and killed a doe I have been looking for. Was not sure she was still alive. Saw 6 rooster pheasant and a bunch of deer. I have zero clue what the neighbors were up to.

What gun was your guy shooting there? 30-30 with 160 grain Winchester ammo? M6 neighbors are awesome! Highway to the west (probably responsible for more kills than any of us hunters), hills and cattle to the south and east (don't know that I've seen more than a handful of hunters or heard many shots in those diections), and the guy to the north is a friend who shares trailcam pics and hunting stories. We can count on each other if in a bind or nedding help. Overall the neighbors are great.
