The kid caught a few more nice bass this afternoon. Been some good fishing considering how hot it is. Ever see a bass shaped like this one? Kind of odd look to it!?! That one bass looks like a potential dislocated jaw. When those bass get as big as the ones your boy is catching (impressive by the way!), he may want to support the bass mid body and not all from the mouth. Damn nice fish!!!

I'll have him start doing that. Normally we don't handle the fish much and just toss them back, but when they need measured they get handled some. The middle pic fish just had a weird shape to him even with his mouth closed; humped back, sunken in belly, and upturned tail.

Thanks. 20" ers. Not sure of the age. Never ceases to amaze me how fast that fish grows. Between them and the catfish not sure which one grows faste.

So, what's your blueprint? I know you don't fertilize and that you do have forage ponds. Do you trap forage and stock your ponds with them. Is forage strictly a feeding or are you supplementing a breeding population already in your ponds? Do you feed pellets? Do habitat work? I've taken up catching minnows with flies. And bulkheads with a pull up net.

It looks like you have some chunky perch hiding in there. How big are they?
I'd eat the perch and feed the catfish to the pigs!

I like catfish too, but perch are my favorite.
Those big channel cats have a lot of food options at your place.

What all are we looking at there? Couple perch, a pile of blue gills and maybe a small bass if I'm seeing it right.
