It looks like you have some chunky perch hiding in there. How big are they? I'd eat the perch and feed the catfish to the pigs! Hahahah. These were around 8"s. I would guess this fall we will be harvesting some 9-10"ers. Pond catfish on the grill is pretty damn tasty! What is your recipe?

I like simple dry rubs. Season it, let it dry for for 1/2hr. Weber, indirect heat 300-350 til flaky

Now that I live here....skys the limit. I have the time and the water. Going to get scary up north. I'm picturing mnfish sitting on the bank feeding some monster fish like in the movie "Lake Placid". He will get greedy and start feeding visitors, sheep/goats, and pigs to the monster. Be warned if you live near mnfish and he invites you on a fishing trip in a couple of years. Don't get too liquored-up and be suspect if he gets behind you!

I just drove mnfishes place minutes ago. I saw an unidentifiable creature crawling in the weeds. It likely could have been Jeff.

Needed power for aeration and the ability to watch under water and time. I just might make 30" cats a reality yet

They swarm around the dock when he shuts his truck door. At a point each fall they quit feeding. Do you think your's would feed in the winter even if you had open water? Is there a trick to getting them to eat once the water temp goes below a certain point? I've read that bluecats will eat clams all winter. No chasing or effort goes into it, they just scoop one up every now and then. They winter in the deepest hole available and stack up in large flocks. Flatheads do the same here. We've had some great fall fishing in deep river holes as the flats all migrate to their winter spots. Sometimes (if they aren't biting) a person end up snagging a fair share of them because they are so stacked up. Do you have clams up there? Super easy bait to collect and use if you don't mind wading a little, and pretty much all fish like them.

Learned that from my buddy who has a fantastic cat pond. No pellets for winter feeding. Believe it or not im thinking about a frog feeder. I have such an abundance of them and the cats dig eating them. Green and leopard. The trick will be to set up a "live" feeder. In their winter hibernation state. I wonder what the conversion rate would be?

I wonder what the conversion rate would be? I imagine the conversion rate would be good as frogs can have lots of proteins and fat in them, but I'm thinking temps and resulting metabolic rates will have more of an effect than nutrition at that point in the year. I'm really curious about the frog idea. Send me a pm if you want, but how in the world do you plan on pulling this off? I can see getting a handful of frogs to throw in once in while, but on a consistent basis? Will a dispenser be used? I'm having trouble with your genius here, you're going to have to spell it out to me.
