I've had good luck broadcasting brassicas including radishes into recently sprayed areas. Having some tall grasses or thatch on the ground seems to improve success as well.
If we ever have rain in the forecast again I'll spread some seed, fertilizer and spray the same day.

With rain in the forecast for tomorrow, I figured I'd go ahead and get my fixation/brassica plot sprayed and seeded. Had a bunch of grass, aspen re-gen, clover, and various weeds growing there. I spread the seed (threw in a bit of red clover and white clover too), then nuked it hard with gly. I also went around the edges of the plot spraying buckthorn seedlings that are coming up where I've killed a shitload of older stuff. I really don't want any more rain as our veggie garden got drowned with the last round of rain, but if it's coming I may as well try to get the plot to germinate. Except for possibly spreading some radish and/or oats into some clover plots later in the summer/early fall, I'm done with plots for the year. Stu, any pics of how your fixation/balsana clover looks in this plot right now? I checked mine the other day and was interested in comparing as I've never done fixation before.

The fixation is pretty much a low carpet of green right now. There was some decent growth going into fall, but the deer mowed it down to putting green level. If we get some snow before bitter cold sets in, there should be a nice crop of fixation in there next spring.

It has that "viney" growth pattern.

Really curious to see how this looks come spring. The deer hammered the brassicas (I should say the fawns around really enjoyed the brassicas;) so I was glad there was any fixation when I went and checked earlier this week.

It will need snow cover to survive below zero temps. If it survives, I think you'll be impressed with the stuff. I had some with 4' of growth each time I've planted it. Bees just love the stuff

I was thinking about fixation this morning. I remember back the last couple years, I had some clover with enormous flower heads on them, like golf ball sized and white/pink. I think those were fixation.
That also leads me to believe I had some reseeding, cause it still persists today, but the stand is certainly weakened.

My fixation does not have very large flower heads, but it does have loads of blossoms. Very attractive to bees. Mine is about done blooming now.
