Here's a mini Hunter from Carl's black birch. Sanded to 600 grit and 1 coat of teak oil. It needs a sheath and sharpening yet.

very nice wood grain. I like to experiment with different woods and stains/ finishes. I like wood grain in my decorative fish decoys. I haven't tried any stains as of yet. Just linseed & tung oils. That black birch wood should darken with age just like black cherry does. Did you smell the sawdust from the sanding. When I cut it into to lengths the sawdust smelled like Bengay.

Well these 2 didn't last long. They were the first 2 sold yesterday. Had my best day ever. I custom order and 6 sold from stock. Inventory is really low now.

The other day a former employer got in touch with me. They were looking of items for a benefit raffle they have every year for the United Way. Not having enough time to complete a build they went through my inventory and pick 2 knives. Some lucky winner is getting both.

Well it finally got here, it's wired and fired. First run is empty run up to 1500 degrees and hold for 10 minutes. I've programmed 4 different recipes for different steels. Now I'll be able to do more than 1 at a time.

Hang it on your belt or if wearing shorts or pants without a belt they fit nicely into your pocket. They are the first to sell when I go to shows or markets.
