How do you guys think the Fimco compare to the Northern tool brand (Northern Star) sprayers.
Since I'm getting in row crops now I'm likely going boom sprayer instead of boomless.

What kind of sprayer do you have now and what kind of problems have you had with it. I believe that would be part of your answer right there. I would also look at parts availability. I know that fimco has been around for a long time and more than likely will be I can't say that for northern Star.

Doesn't really fit my needs for row crops and apples to oranges on what I want.

Not really other than the normal fimco stuff. Is it the highest quality implement? No. Has it really let me down? No.

My question is could northern stars be better. Or better bang for the buck. They seem a little lower in price. Looking for someone for experience with them.

When the valve needed replacing on my Northern Star, i couldn't just walk into a store and get one. I had a get a couple different parts to plumb a fimco one in that was available in a store.
Maybe i could have ordered one from northern tool...didnt try that route.

I got duped the other day when operating my FIMCO sprayer. Could not figure out why one nozzle was not working. Took it apart and cleaned on it.....sprayed it with air......still had little pressure. Turns out the damn battery was running low on charge......and could not meet the pump demand. Charged the battery and life was good again. Duh! Not sure why I had not charged that battery......I must be slipping.
I use that same small automotive battery for the sprayer and the seeder. I wish I had a 12 volt outlet on my UTV.....which would eliminate the extra battery. Add that to my to-do list.

Or get a aligator clip to ciggerette plug adaptor.

Or get a aligator clip to ciggerette plug adaptor. The battery is located under the seat of the UTV....and not easily accessible. I need to get a receptacle located and the needed female plugs (2) so this set-up can be used. (Some day)
