Will a covid vaccine be the next "mask"? e.g... If you can't prove you've had the vaccine, you can't board a plane, enter private or government buildings, go to public school if you're a kid, etc. etc. etc. I can see it happening in the world that is being created right now Wouldn't surprise me if it was mandated. Already several required vaccinations by most states to enter public school. I think it's a state controlled thing, not federal. Not certain on that though. Tin foil hat time; I highly doubt a vaccine is going to be very effective. This family of virus tends to mutate somewhat quickly. The more people it bounces around in the more chances it will have to change. I think a vaccine will have a similar success rate as the flu vaccine. It's not a nice little stable particle like smallpox or ebola and not as easy to deal with. Trump wins... the vaccine is reported ineffective (but instead of it being ineffective due to the nature of the system, it's due somehow to Trump's words), testing and reporting for Covid19 stays the same, and we're back to it's all his fault per the media. Biden wins... the hospitals are instructed to test for influenza FIRST (with any patience who have a cough and fever). They will only test for covid if flu test is negative AND the patient is hospitalized. This will be rationalized with the claim of a particularity severe flu strain this season. They will also decide that the tests are not accurate singularly, they will only count new cases be reported with a positive swab test correlated with a positive antibody test. Virus mostly goes away by March and media gives new administration credit. There's my tin hat predictions. Have fun! Some expert on public radio said that the vaccine will probably be about 50% effective. Referring to corona vaccines for cattle, their are many different strains of the virus. Companies claim their vaccine is better based on some studies of these strains. I could never sort out which is the best vaccine and I suspect it depends on what strain is floating around. The vaccines were made for the diarrhea form of the disease and as they found more pneumonia in cattle, they might hint at protection for pneumonia but could not claim it. The above information is about two years dated. New vaccines or studies may have been completed on cattle.

As an eyeglasses wearer, I find it nearly impossible to wear a mask properly (covering the nose and mouth) and not fog up my glasses. Walking around Walmart yesterday trying to shop wasn't any fun. I'd go from moving my glasses to moving my mask. I wear progressive lenses. Anybody who wears progressives will tell you there's a heck of an adjustment. If you fog up your progressive lenses it makes walking steadily a chore, much less walking and looking for the shit you want to put in the cart.
Meanwhile, the virus has likely been here since at least early January. It's now the end of July. Nearly 8 months without a mask mandate, and now they're so important about half of the 50 states have mandatory mask mandates? That makes sense to you mask wearers? Not to me

Not to me That’s what I said at our work meeting the Friday prior to the Dane county mask mandate. I said so we’re good today and the last 4 months but on Monday we might catch it? Haven’t wore it in the office yet.

Not to me Yup, in a county with maybe 70 cases and last I heard was one death. who remembers hearing this would only last a few weeks to take the peak off of the outbreak?

Weather Underground maintains a covid case and death count per county. The station I use is south of Flensburg. Morrison county has 74 cases and 1 death. This is (IMO) clearly a power grab on Walz' part. I have now decided Trump has started wearing a mask and encouraging us to do so in an attempt to remove masks as something to spend time on. Removing relatively meaningless items of contention with the opposition makes sense (I sure hope that's what he's doing anyway).

I am from the med tech industry and have lots of contacts in pharma development.....NO FUCKING WAY would I allow this "vaccine" be allowed to be administered into me or anybody I care about. No history, marginal science, and political pressure! Combination for disaster Injecting me with something that has been rushed along and not followed the traditional testing protocols is not something I am interested in allowing. With all the money that Bill Gates has poured into the vaccine movement/development I am more than a bit concerned about what may be in the shit they want to inject us with.

My ex business partner and I worked on a nano technology project about 10 years ago. We were chartered to come up with ways to deliver these " miniature biological computers". Injected into the bloodstream. The concept was cool as hell!!! We never saw it go commercial but real cool sci fi stuff! But I could see that technology being used in so many devious ways!!!

WI teacher unions are largely democratic I’d imagine. Maybe Stu would know more. Most teachers I know in the state are dems. WI's teacher union leaders are overwhelmingly democratic (like 100%). Union members (no choice when I was there, gotta belong) tend to vote Democrat too, but there's plenty of Republican and Independent voting teachers as well...especially in small rural towns. WI overall has nowhere near as much rural area as MN though. Same here in NH and Vermont. No way a teacher gets hired if he/she admits they’re a republican.

No history, marginal science, and political pressure! Combination for disaster I'm right there with you! No long term studies combined with the probability of corrupt procedures in the race to be first. Seems like a recipe ripe for sweeping something "minor" under the rug.

The above information is about two years dated. New vaccines or studies may have been completed on cattle. 40-50% has been my estimation since they started saying a vaccine is needed to save the world. It would only save the world if the death rate of the infected is near 100% AND it is highly contagious in ways that can't be mitigated through normal practices. Neither is true. Not saying it won't go away on it's own at some point, but viruses like this don't go away because of human intervention. Politics and a rampant media that isn't held accountable. In my opinion what you saw with the cattle thing (with corona vaccine) is advertising to sell a product, snake oil type of thing... "oh ya, my elixir will fix that too".

LA? Really Foggy? Please don't put Cali or Oregon out there as examples... I wouldn't do that to you northerners. I was not trying to single you out Cat. It was not posted in rebuttal to what was being talked about. I just posted this as I did not know where else to put it. Hard to believe that the LA Teachers Union would call for the police to be defunded......so they could get more money. No worries Foggy. I was joking when I called you out as I didn't think you would actually take anything from LA (or anything out of CA) as a legitimate talking point. I am of the belief that the people of LA could do nothing that would surprise me anymore.
