Well that was interesting. First sight of a bear in quite some time. Sow and cubs just walked up on me while I was on the bait. Did she chatter her teeth and do a bluff charge? Nope. I dumped the bait and gtfo out of there.

I believe the bear hunters next door have taken two small bear this week. I had none on camera since they opened their bait sites.

Baits are still getting hit hard up here Brad. My guess the bear by you all migrated to the big corn fields.

Have your son fly his drone over those corn fields and see if there’s any flattened areas. If they’re in the corn it should be viewable from a drone. Once they’re into it they don’t move out very often. They just lie down, eat, and take a nap and repeat.

My buddy killed a nice bear in the cornfields of Nw Minnesota this weekend. They usually sit on the drainage ditches and watch for bears crossing or maybe coming for water.

I was hoping my corn was gonna keep them around but to no avail.

Well. 2 bears moved in past 24 hours and kicked a decent one off the bait at 10:45 this morning. We are in the game at least.
2 days till the season starts.

Sow and cubs cleaned me out last night. I don't think one of the single bear showed up. Hopefully tomorrow!
