Plenty of harvest is done. A normal year, they would be starting corn about this time, and man would that be problematic for farmers!!!!!!!!! did they get lucky this year or what being able to start corn so early!!!

My neighbor did not have his corn harvested last weekend. It was raining when I was there. If he does not get his corn out by rifle season he will change my hunting allot. My primary plot is on the west side of the property but if he has corn on the east and south side of my property I'll have deer in my front yard. Allot of deer will be hiding in that corn.

There’s a lot of corn in the field yet. Less than average .... but geez that’s tough. We have 7-8 inches of snow here.

Nearly all of the deer I saw last night were where conifers were adjacent to standing corn.

How long before farmers can get at the corn when there is 8-10 inches and the temps do not rise about 30 for 10 days??

A lot is going to depend on how greasy the dirt is under the snowpack I would guess. The ground is not frozen and wont be freezing much under all the snow pack now. Once it rises above 30 and melts the snow, I would imagine the grease factor compounds big time.

I would think that the farmers need the snow to melt down and the ground to freeze some before going crazy with the combines.
