Ugly Land prices are going up with it. A farm south of me 45 minutes—Swift County ...sold on auction for $8000/acre and they were expecting $6500? Nice farm land parcel, but that’s high. wasn't high to the two guys bidding on it.....

Another big day on the market for corn/soybeans. The dry weather is likely to hurt overall yields they say. I am thinking "hell yeah it will" No rain in sight.

Any idea why there are so many bean fields still standing while they're cutting corn around me? Beans look browner than brown. Can't quite figure it out.

Bad stalk strength on the corn, get it before it goes down. Moisture is at 16%, get it before it gets drier and starts shelling out at the head. Plus the bean steams are still really green. Hard to separate dry beans from green stems in the combine. Beans go right out the back with the trash.

A lot of corn is flat north of my area (Lowry-Villard), with the 75 mph winds that hit.

Buddy out west was cutting corn when I was out there antelope hunting. He struggles with going from 20% corn to 10% in just a few days. They really get on it once it's below 18%. He went from corn to milo. This year he's having good milo heads but the berries are small. Had good milo because of a mid summer rain, the same rain that screwed up his wheat harvest. Always something.

‘Cutting corn’ is a term I just never hear in the areas I work. People chop corn silage, or combine corn. Then there is a combination that makes snaplage.
Cutting corn means combining corn?

We also say "cutting beans, cutting wheat, cutting milo, and cutting the cheese". I don't think I ever hear someone say they are "combining" crops. Now I'm going to have to pay attention. Regional differences.
