I've got a feeling that if foggy put his spreader on FB marketplace for $1500 he'd get it in a heartbeat If i wasn't in the middle of selling 1 property and buying another I'd jump all over it. Maybe if foggy has it after January i'll get it.

If I was 1000 miles closer I’d buy it as well. We load lime into the front end loader of the tractor and shovel it by hand.

I can't find the pics of my EZ Flow spreader. Mine is painted Cat Yellow with Imron paint (hardened). I did a first class rebuild on that spreader and had it cut and resectioned to six feet wide so it was easier to get around trees and turn sharply. There is an agitator bar inside the hoppers that is ground driven by those tires (as shown in Tooln's pic). Those drop spreaders are getting scare these days......and a new lime spreader will cost over 2500. Not many choices on how to do this job.....unless a guy has a co-op willing to run in the woods or you want to do the work by hand. I got hull brothers out of Avon MN to deliver 23 tons of ag lime for about $600. IIRC. Also got a dump truck of 12 tons for about the same price. The cost is mostly in the trucking. I got dolmetic quarry lime in my second load. It came out of a Mpls quarry. They say the dolmetic lime does not "wash thru" your solls as quickly as calcitic lime. Lime quality and choices are allot of smoke and mirrors......but without it it's sure hard to grow good crops. Most of my land is at 7 ph or so. I think I started with some PH's as low as 4.5 or so. Have you tried any lime on the popple regrowth areas as a comparison? No, I didn't Art. With all the stumps that would be tough ground to apply lime. The spreader's hopper is only about 6" off the ground. By the time I even considered it the re-gen was well underway. I suppose I could apply some pell lime to some areas using my cone-type spreader.....but the price goes way up for pell lime. I do lime some of my apple trees at times when doing food plots. I was going to buy a trailer load of ag lime this past year......but it was getting late in the season and I wanted to get planted so I put down a skid of pell lime instead. I think I can put down about ten + times as much ag lime for the dollar.

I was kinda talking off the cuff......OTOH its not something I am using in the past few years. This and my stump grinder are kinda dead wood for me now......as the work is all done. It seems that once you get the PH adjusted and keep the pine trees off you land.....it's allot easier to maintain the PH levels. I got my land pretty sweet now.

I'm not up on what sells for what...but I think $800 is well under what that unit would sell for. Of course, that's dependent on how badly you want it sold. I get that sometimes a person just wants the shit gone. I don't think your lime spreader is one of those times, but I may be wrong

I may rather loan it to a few of you guys than sell it and wish I had another. I know I will never get another one of those spreaders in my lifetime. It was kinda a fun project to build. I like putzing with 'chinery. On Tuesday I am taking my jeep to an off-road shop and getting a spring "lift kit" put in. Gonna raise it up another 2.5" along with the bigger tires I put on and the skid plates and such.....it will go over some pretty rough terrain now. Likely go over things I am afraid to drive it to. . ......it keeps me off the streets.

When they show up on craigslist or FB marketplace they tend to go quickly

One thing about the lime spreader is.......that unless you are willing to buy a trailer load of lime at a time (23 tons) it does not pay to fool with it. Now....you gotta have enough land that needs to be limed to make it pay off. So if you are putting down 2 tons to the acre.......well you gotta have about 10 ares or so cleared and ready to lime. Not many guys have that many acres to lime. I did my trails and everything......and got my PH to 7. Then too.....you gotta have a good loader to load the hopper in the ez flow spreader and a wheeler to pull the spreader. .....unless you like operating a shovel.

Don't detract from the sale Lots of guys have compact or sub-compact tractors with loaders. Getting the lime into the spreader isn't an issue. If I had the tractor and was into plotting on a different scale than I am, I'd buy that spreader in a heartbeat.

IF I WERE A YOUNGER GUY......I would make a tractor loader bucket that was kinda like a "clam-shell" bucket with an agitator inside the bucket near that clam opening. The agitator would be run by a char Lynn orbit motor. With such equipment you could load via your front end loader and drive the tractor to the field where you would crack open the clamshell and turn on the agitator via the tractor hydraulics and drive around to dispense the lime. Easy peasy. I would sell these units to the rental stores.....or to folks with a need to own their own. Not a huge market....but likely big enough. It would be so easy to make a dispensing bucket.....I would think. I can see this for fertizler spreading too....for a large dog kennel operation or someone with horses, etc. Poultry litter too. "load and dispense - all in one bucket" REG US PAT OFFICE

When they show up on craigslist or FB marketplace they tend to go quickly Shit yes they are hard to find. I looked for a long time and finally found 2 pieces of crap. But I figured I had the know how to cut both apart and put them back together as one. As you can see 2 rims/wheels were welded together as 1 as it needed new tires and the guy who had it had other tires and wheels so he welded them on. The bottoms were rotted but enough solid material for what I wanted. It took me some time to get it together but was well worth it. I do have pics of the entire rebuild but dont remember if I posted them here or one of the other forums I no longer go to. Attachments:
