How do you put that pell lime down SD? Do you have a spreader? If it's worth an hour's drive.....you could load my drop spreader up and spread your lime with your wheeler. I'd even loan you the trailer to haul it (aluma) if you bring it all back in a few days. (I dont need the spreader so much....as I may need the trailer) That pell lime would spread like butter. Why not just deliver it for him? If you play your cards right he might even let you shit in his bucket. That would be a treat!

You got a photo of their bag? I’ve only seen the dolomitic there but, haven’t bought any for a month or two. What was their price? i don't have a pic of it right now, but it's a blue plastic bag called Ground Force. $4.49/bag (40 lbs).

I didn't want to create a new thread... I went to my new Tractor Supply Store yesterday to pick up a load of lime. I called about dolomitic pell lime, and the guy told me they had a pallet and a half. I get there, the dude walks me to it in the store, but it's not the same product. It's that shit from Kansas that grows the big sum-da-bitchin' bucks down there. It's also calcitic pell. The listing on the TSC website shows the dolomitic, but it's product number is actually the calcitic. It's not the end of the world, I'm actually pumped they have calcitic pell now, because I'll use way more of that in the future to mellow out my subsoil clay-built spots. It's also the same company that makes the gypsum for Menards. Anyway, the one spot I'm making this week that doesn't need fill brought over to raise it up will get a higher calcium content. It shouldn't drive it too high, cause the rate will be low enough. God bless the low CEC topsoils. Thanks, but no need. I'm only spreading 1000 pounds yet this summer. I spread my lime with the same tool I spread big seeds, a 5 gallon bucket headlocked under one arm, fling with the other. Now that I've got the wheeler, I can throw 5 bags on, drive to the spot, and zing it out in about ten minutes. Go back, get another 5 bags, and repeat until done. The Suburu has a modest payload capacity, so I'm doing 400 pounds twice, and then bringing in 200 pounds of gypsum after that.

An over the shoulder Solo spreader would make spreading half a ton of lime much easier and quicker. Mine is close to 20 years old. I've replaced the hopper and the shoulder strap. I've put literal tons of lime, gypsum, fertilizer, and seed through that thing.

I think everyone should re-read the past 10 posts in this thread and ponder why we don’t get more new members.

I did 1200 pounds (dry) of wet cloddy lime in early June and didn't break a sweat cause I didn't have to lug bags. Looks like I'm gonna have to do some video.

That's 2 minutes a bag, maybe if you are just dumping it out in 50 pound pile. Lol

I'll get the go-pro fired up and we'll maybe see if I can do all ten bags in under 20 minutes without stopping the video.

Ya, I've got to see that documented. Like you said Tom, maybe if you just dump it out. No way can it even be remotely accurately "spread."
