I heard a grape vine story that one Mayo doc thinks omicron will hit almost everybody. From friends in Rochester. I just lost a former client and his wife to C this weekend. Nonvac and exactly my age. He makes me wonder about vaccine for me. I am thoroughly confused if this vaccine makes any difference or not. My youngest daughter seems to be improving. One of her roommates returned with covid from Christmas. Positive test for the room mate and some of her family members. Roommate was vaccinated and my daughter is not. My daughter had just slightly worse signs than her. My daughter tested negative. . I do not post this in jest. I really think that Fauci and crew have fed us so much false information and have then had to flip flop that they have lost all credibility with any present recommendations. They should have consulted docs who have worked in the field for years. I am also irritated about the warning on this forum about spreading false information. The government and us have both spread it. I know, who ever owns the forum can do what they want. Fauci and crew should be gone and get a new crew in that might be able to prove their worth. i won’t go on about government false information, but it is there.

I think when all is said and done, we will learn that the vax does indeed reduce hospitalizations and deaths in vulnerable groups...at least for the Covid strains preceding Omicron. What I think is clear now is that the vax doesn't prevent infection (though it may make it less intense) and doesn't prevent vaxxed people from spreading the virus. As far as everybody getting Omicron, I think the Mayo doc is correct.

One expert said yesterday that vaccine is far better and longer acting. My knowledge of the immune system(which is dated) makes me think this is false with the present situation. There is data on both sides. Who remembers hearing about 10 months ago from government officials that the vaccine stops the virus. No infection and no transmissions. And we are still paying these experts high salaries?

We have some friends from MN and lived across the street from me in OZ. Anti-vaxers. We play golf with them every Sunday. Just went for a visit at their house on Sat - late morning. Sunday morning they called......and she was sick in bed.....and has been since then. Covid? Dunno.....likely. Hope my wife does not get it from her. Just got over a long cold from my neighbor here in MN. We gotta quit seeing folks that ignore the signs. I realize that is not the case for all....but it is for us. My wife just cannot deal with this chit. When your running near empty.....you don't need covid. Just saying. Did you or your wife or neighbor get Covid tested while you had that really bad cold? Wonder if that was actually Omicron. I got a test for Covid just before my wife got the cold. Negative Covid thankfully. Both of us had a lingering cough.

And we are still paying these experts high salaries? I tend to listen to Drs. Marty Macary and Marc Siegel. Both have clearly acknowledged that immunity from previous infection is helpful, possibly more so than the vax. Both also state that by having had the virus and the vax your immunity is even higher. Neither recommends getting the vax any sooner than 3 months or so after having had the virus. I don't know if I'll get the booster come spring. Probably not if I get something that I believe is Omicron.

We will never hear of all the deaths from side effects that are going on now and will be ramping up in the future from this experimental vaccine. We will never hear of how the death certificates are improperly filled out to add Covid for the health care systems financial gain. Never seen so many people fall for this bullshit. Happy Afib day all you vaxers. Lol!

Yep. I'm not sure what it will take to break out of this news cycle. Unfortunately, I think it's going take some really crazy shit to do so. Hot war with Russia and/or China? Massive stock market crash? People freezing to death in Europe this winter due to fuel shortages? My larger point is that it's not really all about a virus. It's about money. And as soon as this story isn't doing it for them anymore, they'll find a new one to keep us all glued to the 24 hour news and twitter. Unless we're constantly outraged or afraid then the ratings drop and the gravy trail is over. Definitely. They’ve even done that with the weather as well. Amazingly the forecast changes a lot more on a week to week basis then it ever did in the past. They want the clicks for advertising dollars.

You see the 36 year old brazillian broadcaster that collapsed on tv yesterday and went into cardiac arrest 5 times on the way to the hospital?

Given how "accurate" tests are and you guys' symptoms...I'd lean towards you guys having had Omicron. JMO Dunno for certain Stu. I do think it was a cold. Too many sources of intel on this stuff. Seems all the inputs can be conflicting at times. The vax nor the tests are 100% reliable. This is a sneaky virus. My wife is an Rn with lots of education and hands-on experience. She has run a cardiac rehab unit in the past, worked in internal medicine, ran the infection control unit for many years at a hospital, ICU nurse for many years, later becoming Director of nurses, and then Director of Patient Care, at a hospital clinic, and stays up to date on allot of this stuff. Usually I take her word on these issues over some of the advice offered on this website. No offense intended.....but we all gotta consider our sources of intel. When it comes to seeds and growing clover you guys are good....when it comes to health issues.....I tend to listen to other sources. Grin. . We are all entitled to our own opinions....The debate rages on. Too bad covid is the debacle it's become and that it's been politicized as it has. Facts seem to be obscure and have been subject to change.

Yes to most of the above. I don't think its funny what has happened to the world because of lining mens pockets. Everything seems to point to the betterment of a few why we the people is misinformed on all fronts and suffer the consequences.
For Vax, just not wanting to take this particular vax, no ones hurting anyone by doing either, it only affects you the individual. Weariness sets in under constant stupidity.....

My belief is that covid is everywhere. You can't stop it with masks, vaccines, or socially distancing. Eventually you're gonna get exposed to it, no matter what. My thought has always been to let it run its course. Whoever dies dies. Once it's done, whoever is left is left. We're just dragging out the inevitable.

JMO When setting up these tests, there is always a battle between false positives and false negatives. My daughter tested negative but has now lost taste and smell. All her test means is that they didn’t find it at that particular time of sample collection. Yet we make all of these black and white decisions based on the test results. I fear that wade will be right.
