I'm not totally up on it, just read a bit. But it sounds like 2 decisions were made by the Judges. 1 on the healthcare gibberish, 1 on general employers. Each went a separate way. Healthcare facilities that receive federal funding got to mandate, everybody else doesn't. Yes, I was referring to the one that passed 5-4 the healthcare facility being federally funded and looking for clear definition of what the entails. I believe private companies and states can still have mandates if they choose as well They can as a private company do what they wish. However, my moral compass would quickly lend itself to, I do not comply when something is deemed unconstitutional. Personal Convictions are personal for a reason.
Absolutely. However, what was found unconstitutional was that the Federal government cannot make OSHA require vaccines. There was no ruling on whether a private company or state can require them. Everybody chooses where they will work. If your employer requires something you don't agree with, you can change employers. Of course when you are "older" it may be impossible to find a new job on par with anywhere near similar wages and benefits compared to what you had achieved in the job you quit.

I know Stu, I so hate this particular fact.. People work so hard their whole lives for lies to steal their joy of retirement thoughts. I HATE THIS!

My son in law struggles with not thinking he's the smartest guy in the room. He doesn't deal well with other people telling him how things are going to be done. He thinks the way he does things is how they should be done. Consequently, he quit his well-paying job with health insurance and employer matching 401K to start his own business. He's under 30, so he has plenty of time to figure out if his choice was a good one or not. He is a hard worker, so I'm guessing he will end up doing just fine. Of course, he went from a climate controlled job to one where it's really hot in the summer and really cold in the winter...so that shit will get really old as he ages. Time will tell if he gets rich being his own boss or not.

He doesn't do well with people who don't think like him. I imagine you can relate to that One "problem" he has is that he has a very wealthy cousin (VERY wealthy) who has made it big in various business ventures. Seems everything he touches turns to gold. My SIL seems to think it's easy to become a millionaire business owner at a relatively young age. I hope he's right, but I'll believe it when I see it. Meanwhile, my step-daughter is working 75 hour weeks and raising a kid under 2. His dreams had better work out or he may lose his family along the way.

Living with undiagnosed chrones for two years scared me into selling but I do miss having my own business.

I know Corp America and especially working for a public co isn't for everyone but I wish people would understand and take the time to calculate all the benefits received from Health Care, to 401k match, to stock options to restricted stock, etc. Even more so if you and your wife both do. It sure helped us a lot and should help put our kids through college and being debt free at an early age.

I hope it works for him because that consequence isn't worth it when you can't take it with you.

Many in your daughters line of business feel overwhelmed. Please let her know she is not alone. I have been there several times.

I always valued health care, job security, retirement benefits, paid sick leave, etc. more highly than doing everything "my way". God Bless those who don't and take the chance to start their own businesses because we sure need them. It's just tough to watch when it's somebody you care about. If the kid is right, they'll be well on their way to being "wealthy" at a relatively young age. I sure hope it works out that way for them.

The labor market is really tight right now, so I'd be surprised if a large number of companies require vaccinations with the recent court ruling. Companies can require them, but they risk losing a lot of employees that are not easy to replace right now.

My wife had a stint swapped out today but while she was there they gave her monoclonal antibodies. They put her in a trial for people with no immune system to see if giving them before you get Covid can prevent you from getting it. Usually they are given after you have Covid. They have 71 people in the trial and at $2k a dose I’m sure there is a couple companies hoping they can prove they work considerably better than the current vaccines.
