Has anyone tried the Polaris Kinetic (Electric). I need a side by side to get to my stands in Iowa (electric) quiet … as I get older . The reviews I’ve read are great. My Brother in law has a Polaris electric SxS. He bought it used.....and had to have the batteries replaced soon after he bought it. I think the dealer paid a part of that cost.....as I think there were some defective issues to sort out. (early machine?). He loves the machine.....and uses it daily to check cameras and do various chores around his place. He has COPD so it's invaluable to him. He runs about 30 cameras and that is his passion around his place. He hunts nearly every day during bow, rifle and muzzle season......and loves just being in his blinds and watching wildlife. He is very happy with the quiet operation....and my experience in riding with him is this machine has been good too. Seems to have good power, speed and longevity from what I know. He also has an ATV and a tractor......and he does not use the electric UTV for any "work" duty.....just driving and hauling in the bed.

Ooof. Its a Polaris. Not many other options. Why Yamaha or Honda does not make an electric Side by Side ? Huntve brags about their 4x4 hybrid ? Get an EZgo golf cart lifted and aggresive tires in camo.

To me, that’s the major drawback in buying into ev vehicles

I lifted an EZ Go cart about 12 years back and installed lights and a flip/flop rear seat and big wheels and tires. Mine was dark red and I left it alone on the paint scheme. Blends in pretty well when parked. I had to put in new batttieres when I got it......and just last year replaced them after about ten years. That is pretty good life span on those batteries.
Down here in OZ the batteries only last about 3 years......as the high temps here take 'em down fast.
The AGM type batteries are said to last longer........and the new lithium batteries are guaranteed for 7 years but will get more years than that.......even here in the desert. The lithium batteries in a golf cart are the real deal.......no corrosion or battery maintenance........which is a big thing in these carts. For our purposes.....that old EZ Go PDX cart is a very good solution.....and it can go thru a few inches of snow and carry 4 people to stands, its quiet, and doesn't leave scent.
We have two golf carts in AZ now.......and both are lithium. Best way to go these days.......IMO..

Sometimes he gets sideways in some of the deals he makes.....as he seems to buy other peoples problems and may "get too good of a deal". I know it took him a while before he was satisfied with his purchase......and he paid "too much" on replacing those batteries. Not sure what kinda batteries his rig has got.

I need power where I’m at. We could use an electric side by side in many areas. Hunting, @ the cabin to cruise into town. My friend works at Boomerang in Alexandria, I’ll see what they have and how much. I know it’s not cheap. Wife thinks my Yamaha is too loud. I would not sell that however.

There’s a 2015 Bad Boy Buggy Recoil in Sioux Falls for sale . $7500
Camo 72 volt.. new batteries. I’ve heard mixed reviews on them. Might be an option for what I need it for ?

If your going to buy an electric ANYTHING make certain you have lithium batteries. Lead acid batteries do not last long enough and are a PITA to maintain. Lithium holds a charge, requires NO maintainance and are trouble free. 2nd best are those AGM batteries......but I would hold out for lithium. It's affordable these days. Almost all the new golf carts are going with lithium.

Costs money to dispose of them.

I’m not a fan of EV in general, but I need a quiet approach …. I walk and it can be a mile walk. Sweaty, inconvenient etc…
Bikes are an option, but I’m passing on that . I want something close by to haul the deer out as well 😉

In the past two years I had two lead-acid batteries blow up on me (solar powered boat hoists). Lucky I did not get an acid bath in both cases. So far I am 2/0 on lead-acid versus lithium.

The chemical makeup of Lifepo4 batteries is different than older lithium batteries. They have the fire hazard thing worked out of them. The only thing is that with new lifepo4 batteries can not be charged when temps go under 32 degrees Fahrenheit. They have a work around where you can get battery with internal heater to warm battery before charging it.

My golf cart in OZ is Lithium.....and I really like the performance and lack of any maintenance or corrosion issued here. Did not know about the charging temp requirements....but that is of no concern on my golf cart. Seems 80% of new carts are now lithium.....but a few are bought with the sealed gel batteries too.....which give fair life as well. The lithium are guaranteed to as much as ten years now......and I think the AGM's are guaranteed for 6 or so. The lead acid batteries here in the desert heat only last 2 to 3 years. In Minnesota the battery life is extended.....but you need to watch the charging and maintenance. No issues with the lithium......6 months go by and the battery is just like it was when you left it. No corrosion either.....or lead-acid spills on your garage floor from heat expansion. etc.

Ran them all last summer. They worked great. The BMS is what protects the battery from over charge, low temp charge, short circuit and a whole bunch of other built in protections. As far as when they started with the lifepo 4 lithiums not sure. sure.
